Adam’s Room
Adam and Nicholas are twins. They each have their own room, and their own ways of doing things -but they still compare who has what, and like to keep things ‘even’.
With this in mind YRYS came up with the ‘similar but different’ concept when re-designing and installing these two rooms. We kept the color and layout different but the style similar. They also each had organization issues. Take a look at the following before and after photos, and see how we set up a new room for both of them.
Nicholas’ Room
Teen Room
Christian’s room was a blank canvas. He wanted some travel influences and a little theatrical flare, while his mom wanted a classic style that would grow with him. He was 14. So we framed pictures of European cities, gave him some shelves for display, and a magnet board for him to create and display all of his favorite inspirations.
The bedding was custom made of dark denim and a canvas stripe. The drape panels we constructed from the same fabrics.
A book rack and bean bag chair gave him a ‘chill’ space, and there is still room for a desk under the window next year.
This was a surprise for Christian when he came home from school one day. Lucky kid!! He was super happy with the new space and now the parents have a lot more time and space to themselves.
Whether you’re looking at making a change, or starting from square one, Your Room Your Space offers the necessary tools for developing your child’s unique attitude.
Malcolm’s Room
Lucky Malcom has a brand new room, large enough to play in, read in and have sleep overs. He has a separate corner for reading, a play table with storage and a magnet board for display, book racks by the bunk bed so that if he wants to crawl up high and have a quiet read…. his siblings won’t be able to find him!
Beckett’s Room
Beckett is the cutest little boy. It was such a pleasure doing his room (with his brother Konner’s help) We had a car aplique’ custom made for his bedding that states a great theme when you walk in. The rest of the room took shape around the cool fabric on the ribbon board for color and design. I think Konner had some great suggestions!
Oliver’s Room
Oliver is a big train fan, and his mural sets the stage for this stunning room. Organized and simple, he really has everything he needs, including lots of extra space. Lucky little man!
Shared Space for Sam & Noah
Notice how much organization went into this shared space. There is a book rack that doesn’t take up valuable floor space but allows mega storage for all of the shared books they read. Bean Bag chairs make reading in their room (in seperate corners if they wish) a quiet pleasure. A very large magnet board allow the boys to put up whatever they wish to look at, without putting sticky-tack all over the walls. And a personal shelf over each bed means they can have a seperate place for their individual things. Voila’ -everything in its place….. or that’s the idea!
Details for Magnus
For Magnus’ Room details were the crowning glory. The head of this bed (King no less) was a blank slate and a very large statement was needed. As you will see from the images below, the letter M completes the bed, but all of the little details are what makes this room a cozy place to hang out and explore.
